Shownotes

Julie Bignell is the deputy chair of Care Super. She’s a director of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors and Austin Health.

She’s formerly been a director of the North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. Julie’s an experienced committee chair and she’s chaired committees on risk corporate governance, member and community engagement and human resources and industrial relations issues.

She got her start as a Coles ‘checkout chick’ and says, “my understanding of boards and how organisations work really came from lived experience of working”. She was intrigued and wanted in. She hasn’t looked back, as she tells me in this episode.

Headshot of Julie Bignell.
