Today on the Take on Board podcast, I speak with Dr. Emily Moore about being an effective board member and the role of a board in a crisis.

Emily is on the boards of Metrolinx, which is a provincial crown corporation providing regional commuter rail and bus services for Toronto and Chemtrade logistics, a Toronto Stock Exchange listed industrial chemical organisation.

She’s also finishing up with HalTech Regional Innovation. She’s was a director of St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School, the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Counci, and the committee for Research Partnerships.

Dr Moore is a professional engineer, professor and board member working at the intersection of technology and business and education. After more than 20 years in industry, she is now director of the Troost Institute for leadership education in engineering at the University of Toronto.
